The project site is relatively flat, stretching inland from the Sea of Oman. As part of this multi-billion, multi-phase project, MASON Architects recently completed the design and schematic design for the multi-family residential units, the retail and dining elements, and the public spaces of its Waterfront component.
The design is Futuristic, showcasing a very modern Omani architectural vernacular. Many of the larger condominium and apartment buildings along the central arcade have outer skins consisting of smooth gradients of transforming sunshades to provide passive solar protection and convey a strong design language. Sustainability elements including solar panels, gray water systems, electric car charging stations, and energy efficient HVAC systems have been incorporated.
The scope includes apartments and luxury apartments, retail, F&B, a central pedestrian promenade and a beachfront plaza and boardwalk.
